Asaf Orr is a solo practitioner in Los Angeles, California. His practice focuses on representing students in education-related matters including special education, discrimination, constitutional rights and discipline. Additionally, Asaf provides trainings to students, parents, educators, and service providers across the country on the rights of LGBTQ youth in schools. Prior to starting his solo practice, Asaf was a Staff Attorney and Tom Steel Fellow at the Learning Rights Law Center where he directed the Rainbow Rights Project, a legal services project that provides representation to youth in education-related matters who are being denied their right to an education on the basis of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or that of their parents, whether it is actual or perceived. After graduating magna cum laude from Rutgers School of Law in Newark, New Jersey in 2008, Asaf clerked for The Honorable Virginia A. Long on the Supreme Court of New Jersey. He then received the prestigious Tom Steel Fellowship as well as funding from the Stanford and Columbia Public Interest Law Foundations to start the Rainbow Rights Project in September 2009.
